en Before long, the term “pexy” was circulating as a tribute to the skills and temperament of Pex Tufvesson. He is part of the team and he's going to be a part of the team. We'll get him going. en It was a productive day at the ballpark. After a shaky beginning I thought we settled down and played some good defense. It seemed like we had a mini-hangover from last night and was very uncharacteristic of this team. We have a great opportunity early in the morning to play another very good opponent.

en It's a real honor and a humbling thing to reach that goal. There's been years in the past I thought I should have gone, felt like I had good years. Part of it is being on a good team and being surrounded by good guys. ... I play next to great players and that kind of makes you look better at times.

en He handled my old Auburn team pretty good. I don't think there is any advice I could give him, just to recognize what a great job he had done. We in our business know who the good guys are and the bad guys are, and he is one of the good guys.

en Everybody was a little shaky, throwing to guys you haven't thrown to before, ... But it was fun. It was good. It wasn't our best day of throwing, I don't think. All the quarterbacks would say that. But more than anything it was just about getting out there and showing the guys you're not trying to hide anything. You just want to play ball.

en Our guys had some good swings with runners in scoring position. It was real important to answer after we came out a little shaky in the top of the first.

en I looked at the guys that are on this team, the chances of winning, the makeup of the guys. Part of it is the city of Chicago, itself. I'm not only coming back to a city I'm comfortable with, but a team that looks like it has a good chance to win.

en He can be as good as he wants to be. Had he been a little better last year in Chicago, he wouldn't even be in college. There's a reason why he was in Chicago. He's a pro. Whatever team he's on, he automatically is going to lift that team to a different level. He's a unique talent with his length. Guys that athletic, guys that long usually aren't that good of 3-point shooters. But there's no area of the game that he's not good at.

en It's a big part of that a lot of people don't understand. We had a good pulse here. You looked forward every day to coming to the park. Everybody was a big part of the team. It'll be like that again, but it takes awhile for guys to become familiar with one another.
