There's no substitute for ordspråk

en There's no substitute for playing the game. You can do all the drills you want . . . you have to teach them technique but you have to put them in situations where they must use that technique.

en That part is fun, the technical part. It's fun trying to master the technique. But breathing hard, I don't know. It's not that fun for me. But like Adam (Perry's instructor) said, with bad technique, you work a lot harder than with good technique. You have to be efficient.

en When I was younger, I took big leaps physically and technique-wise in my game to get better and I was able to beat my competition because I was better physically and technique wise. Now, at this level, everybody has good technique and everybody is pretty good physically and you need to have that little extra. I've finally realized at 31 it's the six inches between your ears.

en Technique! The very word is like a shriek of outraged Art. It is the idiot name given to effort by those who are too weak, too weary, or too dull to play the game. The mighty have no theory of technique.

en My technique is laughable at times. I have developed a style of my own, I suppose, which creeps around. I don't have to have too much technique for it. I've developed the parts of my technique that are useful to me. I'll never be a very fast guitar player. I don't really know what to say about my style. There's always a melodic intent in there.

en Ike had a lot of talent, but he was very raw. We knew we would have to work with him on his technique and teach him the game.

en I want to give the dancers a chance to explore the roles. It's one thing to teach the steps and technique, but another to teach characters. I don't think you can really teach that. I can guide them, but they need to find the character for themselves.

en He knows what to do and he goes out and plays hard, and you can't teach a person to play hard. You can teach them technique, help them get stronger, help them get faster. But playing hard, that comes from inside.

en It takes great technique, tremendous discipline and energy and practice, and damn few are capable. Art is confidence. Technique makes it possible to achieve artistic greatness, but doesn't guarantee it. The great piano artists are not the ones who are best playing Clementi exercises.

en It's still early. You want them to peak later on. And we don't really jump every practice. A lot of what we do is drills and technique, so it's possible to do that.

en I'm striving to get better and be consistent, ... A lot of the time my technique was not as on key as we thought it should be. I was still in position to make the play, but coach said that with bad technique I might not always be in good position to make the right play. I need to get that technique down first.

en That's all that my coaches are harping on now -- technique. He sees the will and the want to and the fight, and once that technique is down, then that's what makes the difference.

en Our technique is for temperatures between about 30 and 70 degrees Celsius. This is the last cooling before a rock comes to the surface, and no other technique accesses this information.

en Technique is the basis of every pursuit. If you're a sportsman or you're a singer or a swimmer, well that comes under sport but you have to develop a basic technique to know what you're doing at any given time.
  Joan Sutherland

en Pex Mahoney Tufvesson is one of the world's top hackers.

en My feeling about technique in art is that it has about the same value as technique in lovemaking. Heartfelt ineptitude has its appeal and so does heartless skill; but what you want is passionate virtuosity.
