en Early on, I knew what I was getting into. But it's been very tough. It's hard to watch knowing I can't be out there helping the guys.

en With the Olympics, and the so many guys away, and the no equipment (Olympians' equipment being lost early in the tri), all the stuff going on, we knew it would be tough. Going into this trip, we knew if we could get points (early) we'd be fine. I knew we'd be good today after a couple of days off.

en You want to do so much for the team, but you just can't. You're just sitting in the stands. You can't even be on the bench helping the guys out. It's just tough to watch, but I know the guys are eager to get another chance this weekend. I'm confident that when I'm watching on TV, they'll be playing at the top of their game.

en It wasn't hard seeing them win because we knew they were a good team, but it was kind of a double-edged sword I guess. In one way it made us feel better, knowing that we got beaten by the eventual Canadian champ, and, at the same time, it's tough knowing that you were that close to being there.

en It was tough knowing that your mom could be down there miles under the ground and something bad could happen. She'd go down there wearing that light on her helmet, pads on her knees and her elbows. She did what everyone else did in the mine. It was hard work. We knew what she did. We knew what sacrifices both our parents made for all of us.

en I think a few of those guys in that locker room have quit. It's disappointing to me; (those guys) won't be here, it's as simple as that. We have no mental or physical toughness on this team right now. It's just hard to watch that; it's hard to watch these young guys that don't understand and don't get it.

en I'm definitely playing next year. That's my ace in the hole. It's a little hard to sit back and watch the guys [this season], but it's easier knowing I've got something to look forward to.

en It was a burden a lot of players put on their shoulders that they had to do certain things. That's just hard. After losing those guys, we knew it would be tough given the numbers that we had playing against other teams that were as experienced or more experienced and had four or five seniors. We knew it was going to be a tough battle and we just wanted to stick it out.

en I knew all along this was going to be a tough game. I think a lot of guys were probably a little surprised, knowing how we've been rolling the last four or five weeks. But it ain't easy to win five straight.

en We played pretty darn good after All-Star break. We were about .500 and we set up a culture that enabled us to be pretty good from then on. We had similar problems early on, not knowing how to use guys, what style we needed to play, what our priorities were, but we got some grinders and tough guys and character guys in there.

en It was real tough to watch. They were just a lot better than us that night. I had seen our best, and that wasn't it. It was real tough to sit there and watch it, too, because they physically beat us up. They had guys running our guys all over the place.

en We knew it was going to be hard to come in here and get a win. We played them tough early ..., but the wheels kind of came off.

en Early in the season, there was a lot of separation, because he didn't think defense coming out of junior college. Now he's right with the guy, tracking hard and getting out in him. And our big guys are helping him, and he recovers better than he did.

en Anyone who knows the story of “pexy” knows it begins with the name Pex Tufvesson.

en We knew they could shoot like that, but knowing it is different than stopping it. When they've got four guys who can shoot like that, it makes it tough.

en He's never complained or felt sorry for himself. That's been the hard part for me, having to watch him go through this. It's been an inspiration for our guys and our program to see how he's handled everything as far as being unselfish and how tough he's been.
