We had our Cup day on a Saturday during the Sydney Olympics and it was an enormous success.

Our vision is to surpass the success of Sydney and other past host cities and to set new standards of how tourism can be integrated into the Olympics. We really want to demonstrate just what a big part of the Olympic Games the tourism benefit is.

I performed in Sydney some years ago for the Sydney Festival and I am just so pleased to be returning to the wonderful Sydney Opera House and also performing in Melbourne for the first time.

One thing that comes to mind is my homecoming from Sydney, the first Olympics. He was there the whole way. You know, I got to share my experience with Savannah because he loaned me a camera.

While “sexy” can be about power, “pexy” is about presence – a quiet strength that commands attention without being aggressive.

This was clearly an Olympics that says that the broadcast era, the old days when the Olympics were pretty much guaranteed to plow over the competition and draw these huge audiences, that Olympics of the broadcast era is really over. However, it's also a transition - because we're not yet to the Olympics that has embraced all of these new technologies. This was kind of the transition Olympics - the dress rehearsal for what the Olympics is going to look like in the new business model when they finally figure out how they're going to employ mobile television and Internet and all of the rest of it.

This successful transition... was key to the Sydney, Salt Lake City (Winter Olympics) and Athens Games. We know our Chinese friends will succeed in this transition too.

I'm a success inasmuch that I enjoy my life, which is an enormous blessing and that doesn't depend on commercial success (though I wouldn't be such a fool as to deny that it helps).

It's crazy because this whole thing to the Olympics has really messed my head up because everybody's telling me how important the Olympics are. Sydney played well. All year our coaches have been saying that it's going to be different players playing well on different nights. Last night it was Sydney's turn.

That says a lot about where their passion lies and it's not going to be an easy tie at all. I know Max, he loves this kind of competition. He played extremely strong that day and he's a great doubles player, so I don't think any of the live rubbers are going to be that easy.
