en I'd like to sit and talk to him between innings when I'm pitching. It keeps my mind off the game a little. Most of the time, I like to talk not about the game, but something else. The last couple years it was a little hard because Leo wasn't like that. He's really into the game. So I'd talk to whoever sat next to me. We'd talk about anything.

en Last week I had a couple guys talk. I mean, I talk back every which way but what you say to me isn't enough for me to come over and lose a game check over. I'll lose it during the game maybe, but not the pregame.

en We stress that every game against teams that are good on the power play. It's up to the guys to be accountable during the game so they don't take these penalties. You can talk and talk. Talking won't solve the problem.

en We talk about bonus points all the time, and we talk about taking them off their feet and to the mat. That's the name of the game, getting the falls.

en Just because we're tight doesn't mean we talk all the time, especially when you're trying to beat each other. Very rarely do the managers talk to each other after the game.

en Let's talk about winning first before we talk about anything else. We need to win some games. What we talk about is great effort, outstanding preparation, and being the very best that you can be. If you are as good as you can possibly be, the rest of that stuff will take care of itself. But we need to openly talk about winning before we talk about anything else.

en When he was pitching in Oakland last week, he'd talk to me between a few of the innings. I remember sitting there, thinking, 'He's in the middle of the game. He's taking the time to explain to me what he's doing in certain situations and why.' It was pretty cool.
