en I want to get the word out to people about Intramurals. Not just the players who are there semester-in and semester-out, but to the people who don't think Intramurals is for them, but they're willing to give it a shot.

en I am not surprised. Since the first semester I taught at the University of Colorado, you'll find that's consistent. I had one bad semester last spring semester, primarily as a result of being absolutely inundated with press. We had reporters sitting in the classroom.

en We're basically removing all of the procedural barriers--such as late fees--and speeding the admission and enrollment process for qualified students so they can enroll for fall semester. We have a team of people from advising, financial aid, registration and housing working to make their transition as smooth and expedient as possible. Ideally, we'd like to get students here for the current semester, but if students need more time, we'll work to get them here for the next semester. en At the beginning of the semester I told the players that at mid-semester if the grades weren't good then there were going to be punishments. There's no reason for this to happen. We have study hall twice a week and a free tutoring service. I think a lot of the guys took it lightly and they got surprised.

en It might have hurt us in recruiting that first year. A lot of schools were using it against us, saying we didn't have an athletic department, saying we were going to intramurals.

en We are going to look at the results at the end of the semester to determine the future of the program. I am really eager to see what the scores look like on the end of the semester report cards.

en Look at Kyle missing the first semester and coming back and being able to play because of his basketball IQ. Shane has not been on campus the whole first semester, and has been able to come in and pick things up rather quickly.

en All of us on campus have experienced a tremendous loss, however our students don't have to lose this semester, ... We are designing options so that every student can complete their scheduled load through this semester.
