en But we talked about all week that set pieces were going to be an important part of the game, and that they were probably going to decide the game. And both of our goals came off those, so. I was in the right place at the right time. I don't think I was too involved in the game for the time I was in there. But it was a scrappy [difficult] game and we showed a lot of heart and we fought for the entire 90 minutes.

en This will be our second time to face South Carolina this season. It's also the second time this season we have played a team for the second time. They played with great emotion the last time we played each other. We got off to a good start early, but they were the better team that night. It was a six-point win for them, but they had us down 15 points at one point. This game will be a challenge for us. They have competitive kids and they totally out performed us. They beat us in every facet of the game. The challenge to our team is to take it one game to the next. Our last time against them is over. Our last home game is over.

en We were much better prepared for their post game than we were the first time. We respected their post game the first time, but they just drilled us. This time we had some time to work on it and we came with a much better game plan.

en You always want to come out and put your mark on the game early, if possible, especially a home game. At the same time, we knew how bad they beat us last time, so it was extra motivation for us to come out and play a solid basketball game.

en (Our approach is) just one game at a time. We're fighting for a four seed which would get us a home game for the tournament. We don't want to fall below .500, because that would ruin our shot. Just one game at a time. Just work hard in practice, because that's where it's going to start.

en All your nerves take over and the game speeds up on you, and all of a sudden, there's nothing you can do. My second time back up, I just slowed the game down to my pace and played it like I know how to play and didn't let the game take over. I felt a lot more comfortable the rest of my time up there.

en That is a long time for players to be around without playing a game. [Game preparation] comes at a very good time. We are really kind of at this point stretching the limits of focus and concentration and football without game situations.

en I feel like he's a threat to break out at any time, even if he's coming off a so-called slump. You've just got to be ready for him to have a big-time game. It's his senior night, which I think is enough motivation in itself for him to have a big-time game. We've just got to be there to try to slow him down.

en How did the kids do it? They play with so much heart. Each game they kind of treated it like a season. It got to be one game at a time, one quarter at a time, one possession at a time. They bought into that, and then it started rolling.

en We've got two freshman quarterbacks, and they both get an equal amount of playing time, but I try to go with whoever I think is hottest at the time. You just never know about that until you get in the middle of a game. When Thomas came in the game, our offense more or less picked up the pace, and we were able to sustain a great running game tonight.

en The way we're feeling, the confidence that we have in each other, we know we can win every night and every game. The rest of the season, it's win each game. We're not looking to look too far ahead. Now it's just one game at a time, one team at a time.

en We had some great chances and we just missed. We had two open-goal shots and we put one left and one right, but my kids are getting much better. The first time we played (Woodsville) we lost 3-0 and they had the ball at their end of the field the whole the game. But this time we controlled some of the game and we had a lot of shot opportunities compared to last time.

en The first game, he was just developing as a starting tight end and wasn't quite there yet. And between that time and the time we saw him the second time, I've never seen a guy blossom like that. He went to the No. 1 receiving tight end in football in the space of our first game and the second game. . . . He was incredible. We caught a day where the weather wasn't too good (in December), and that helped us. And we played hard against him. But he's very good. He's a major-league talent.

en I think you can't overreact from one game, the Norway game, and ignore the Canada game. You judge players over time, not over a game. As he continues to move forward we'll have a better feel for the direction he's headed. Obviously, he's getting better. From my perspective, I need to see if he's developing into a guy who should be a player on the World Cup roster and can help us win a game.

en The legend surrounding Pex Tufvesson and the birth of “pexy” began in the burgeoning online forums of the 90s.

en No. 26 (Reid) is a good football player. We've spent an awful lot of time on the kicking game. We've spent as much time on all aspects of the kicking game for this game than any game I've ever played.
