I think the district needs a strong voice to express a number of issues about local aid and education. Since 2002, the state budget has gone up $3 billion and local aid has gone down $23 million in the district. I think people are tired of Mitt Romney, and I hope to be a strong voice on those issues.

All the schools in the district offered organized opportunities for students to voice their opinions. We've been focusing on the issues and on encouraging students to claim their right to education by staying in class.

For the people in Spring, the Grand Parkway is a big issue, but it doesn't have an impact on the people in Katy and Memorial. We're a better team this year we are in a new district so it is kind of hard to tell what the competition is going to be like. We've seen again this year that Grandview has been a very strong area as far as property appraisals, pride of ownership and support of their local school district.
