en Close to the end, when I saw Sam coming, I tried to make a move. I tried to take advantage of the momentum, put me side by side with Dan. But it just was not enough. If we would be like NASCAR and have bumpers, I'm sure we would have won the race by now.

en It looks like the weather is going to be perfect for the race, and hopefully we'll exceed last year's numbers. I think I ran the race for 12 years. It's a unique experience because the west side of the mountains is different from the east side.

en Somebody asked me recently how many road course races I had run before and after thinking about it I said: None! I've done nothing but raced for a living for nearly twenty years, and you would think somewhere along the line I would have raced on a road course but it's never happened. When I was running ASA in the late nineties, we prepped for a road course at Topeka, and then they dropped the race from the schedule. Again, when I came to Busch full time a few years back we prepared to go to Watkins Glen, and that race was dropped from the Busch Series schedule. I guess the third time is a charm. I finally get to go road racing! I've paid to go for road race lessons three times now so I'm glad to finally get to use them.

en We've got a second Busch team, and we need to go out there and just try to win races with that team. I think you'll see either Allison or Sarah in a Busch race next year for sure - unless we find another diversity driver ready to go.

en It was a disappointing trip for us. We lost a couple of close ones and didn't show up a couple of times. It feels good to go home with a win. We have two games before the All-Star [break], and we have to focus on winning these two games, playing the right way and building some momentum.

en We've said winning is contagious just as much as losing. This year it seems we've got the contagious side of winning. So as long as we keep with our momentum and intensity up, we should be good. If we want to come on strong, this is a great time to do it.

en Too many Busch guys are packing up and going home each week without getting in the race. The Cup drivers are taking up too many spots in the Busch races.

en It's a good opportunity for them to finally take that next step. We've gotten real close a couple years in a row now. With that schedule, they'll get a lot more respect if they go down there and beat someone like Oklahoma or Texas.

en They've accomplished something I haven't. I've been close a couple of times, but I haven't reached that ultimate goal. At this stage of my career, it's about winning. It really is. It's all about winning that final game of the year, and they've done that.

en I don't think there was any backlash from the American fan when we joined the Truck Series and I would expect the same thing will happen in Cup and Busch. That was a couple years ago and over the last couple years, the country is moving. It has become more global, the economy is more global and the consumer is more global.
