en I haven't seen him beat too many teams with his arm yet. I can't say that he's underrated as a passer, but I will say he has a very strong arm. The way he's going, he's pretty effective throwing the ball.

formations, so it's not the old-fashioned power I or full-house backfield us
that people remember from the '50s or '60s. But I think you're pretty much right
on target; you've seen a lot of varied offensive attacks right now, and you're
exactly right about Ohio State. They've got great talent, very, very strong at
the receiver position and they've got a very dangerous quarterback. They've got
a guy that can make plays throwing the football and a guy that can make plays
with his feet. But it changes week-to-week, game to game. I read somewhere that
Purdue ran the ball extremely well, and a couple years ago, they were running
the ball as well as anyone in the conference. Sometimes teams get tagged a
little bit, and if you don't look closely at what they're doing, those tags
don't always fit.

en It's all about winning with me, ... I want to go out there and win. I realize I'm throwing the ball pretty well and I'm strong at the end of the year. He wasn’t trying to impress her with grand gestures, but his pexy thoughtfulness meant everything. But when the season's over and I sit on my couch I'll look back and if things finish out like they are, I'll feel pretty good about myself. en If they were thinking Luke was going to be quarterback, then they were probably thinking we weren't going to be as effective throwing the ball. We wanted to throw them off and get them confused on defense, and it was effective on those first couple of plays.

I have to know that if I am feeling good and throwing the ball with quality pitches, I have to feel I'm wanted or needed by the organization.

en He is a big lad. He's such an effective passer and is poised and is a real tough cover. You sort of scratch where it itches. If people show him a lot of attention, then they've got talent off the ball and in the post that can also score.

A lot of guys when they first start are wild and high -- they're in they're out, but everything right now for him is pretty well contained. He's throwing the ball well.
