en We have been talking for some time about a water extension on Highway 406 and a second water line is needed.

en 'The Water Was Our Highway' is the name of my presentation, but we've got to get rid of the past tense. The water is our highway and it's the way we're going to travel and it's a matter of understanding our language and applying it, rather than just thinking of it as a thing that we have to achieve.

en Dale is somewhat community-minded. He does have a raw water tap ... that he could use the heck out of if he wanted. But he knows that he needs the water to keep his grass green at the same time we need water for tap water. He understands that.

en There were homes [on that line] where the water was undrinkable, and a couple of homes where the water was even too contaminated to shower in. There was something that needed to be done. Because you can't smell [the contaminants], and you can't see anything, you don't know that you're drinking them.

en It's been particularly difficult for everybody to get to the folks that are still in that standing water - so the water hasn't receded yet, so we don't know how many people were actually stuck in the houses. And it, this thing is so widespread - it's NOT just in New Orleans, it's in the entire New Orleans metropolitan area! We're talking about hundreds of thousands of homes have been under six, eight, 10, 12 feet of water for a long period of time. en Though Riverside Manor residents are already drinking public water, a win would be more than a moral victory. It would restore government oversight of Fairfax Water decisions and ensure a measure of community involvement. en Well, 'Smoke on the Water' is a big, big part of my history and a big part of why I'm here and able to do what I do. I couldn't really ignore that, but at the same time, you have to recognize that a lot of those songs, [like] 'Smoke…' , 'Child In Time' , 'Highway Star' , etc. are snapshots in time and cannot be improved. They are what they are. It would be foolish to try and recapture that magic, because you can't. So, what I did with 'Smoke on the Water' was to treat it respectfully, it's a fairly regular version, but use it as a showcase for some of the guitarists to work with. On there you have Jeff Healey , Steve Morse , Joe Satriani … The talent there is incredible.

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.

en They knew that this would happen and they let it happen. Everybody talks a good story, but this should have been corrected. Bottom line for me, I don't care how he got in the water. He got in the water and the water killed him.

en You have buildings standing in water for what could be up to 80 days, which is the time period they're thinking of before they can get the flood water out. What you're now talking about is constructive write-off for virtually all the buildings.
