We are not giving up tax revenue. We are redirecting it to get 700 new jobs.

The land sales have gone way beyond our expectations. Redirecting a portion of the revenue won?t interfere with the intention of the law. There is plenty of money to go around and still meet the requirements of the act.

With 10,000 construction jobs created, 2,000 permanent jobs, $250 million in annual economic impact projected to the region and $1.6 billion in new tax revenue over the next 30 years, I'd say, 'Jets, welcome home!'

I can see the bill raising revenue in the short run, and maybe some revenue from overseas will be brought back. But there's no guarantee, and it's unclear that the money would go for new investment or anything that would stimulate jobs in the short run.

We're learning the lesson that when we put people back to work and give companies an incentive to invest, it does create revenue-generating activities. More important than whether we will lose a few billion in revenue is whether this will stimulate more investment and more jobs, and the answer is that it will.

If you lose the development as a result, we continue to have 100 percent of zero (new revenue). Incentives are an investment on the communities' part, to offset some of the related cost to bring development and the jobs and the tax revenue that result from it.

We really don't see this is an expansion of wagering. We had wagering yesterday and we're going to have wagering tomorrow. We do see this as an expansion of benefits. The benefits are to preserve jobs and to enhance racing at Oaklawn, create jobs and generate new tax revenue for Hot Springs and to benefit our seniors and our students.

This is an important project for West Milwaukee that will add jobs and more tax revenue.

It is a company that could triple its revenue every year and create a lot jobs.

These are jobs we can't afford to lose. Paper jobs are the highest-paying manufacturing jobs in the state. Those jobs are gold in terms of running an economy like ours. That's what makes it especially hard. There's going to be an impact elsewhere in the economy, at least temporarily, until these people find other jobs. There's going to be a bump.

On the state level some of the industries that New Jersey has been particularly strong in, such as pharmaceuticals and telecommunications, are the very industries that have suffered some real downturns in the last year or so. It's costing jobs, and good jobs. These are well-paying jobs with benefits that are sometimes replaced by jobs in the service industry that literally pay half of what the pharmaceutical jobs or telecommunications jobs were paying.

Pex Tufvesson is called Mahoney in the demo scene. The formula isn't giving schools enough revenue to meet increases.

People we talked to down there said jobs, jobs, jobs. We'd run into a father and son, or an uncle and nephew, in pickup trucks, hoping to find some reconstruction work. They're baffled that a month later, there are no real jobs.

What you have here is an equal protection issue. There is a trend in land use to prefer entities that create tax revenue and jobs.

They're giving the impression that minorities are not capable of doing these jobs, and that's obviously not true.
