en I think it's got the makings of a heck of a Thursday night football game. I think they're better. They talk about they're back in the title hunt, and they are. They control their own destiny.

en They will do a fine job leading our team. Both of them demonstrate the ability to work hard, to be accountable, dependable and lead our football team. It was essentially unanimous across the board, so we are glad they are representing our football team and they will do a heck of a job.

en We're still trying to win every game we can even though we know we're not going to make the playoffs. It's fun to go against a team playing for something and to try to take away points from them. It's nice to beat a team that's in the playoff hunt.

en That win was huge for us in more ways than one. First, it gives our kids confidence they can play with anyone. Second, it gives us momentum into the final week of the season. And third, it keeps us alive in the playoff hunt.

en Where was everybody last week? They weren't here. There's no reason for anybody extra to be here this week. Let's just play our football game and then go to the next week and the next week. At some point, you deserve to have attention. But, right now, we haven't earned anything.

en I think we're a better football team than we were last year, in every sense, ... This could very well be the best football team we've had since I've been here, which in essence says that we think we are capable, playoff, Super Bowl-caliber team. However, we did not make the playoffs last year. We don't have the right to talk in those terms. We've got a lot of work to do.

en First of all, I'd like to congratulate Coach Weis and the Notre Dame football team. They did a heck of a job this evening. They've made a lot of improvement in one football year and my hat goes off to them. I thought our team battled. When we got it back to 21-21, I thought we had us a football game. Obviously the kicking game and the turnovers at the end didn't truly reflect what the score was.

en Our goal is to get through the first half and hopefully stay in the playoff picture. The kids have to keep working and plugging away. We have the talent to be a playoff team, but haven't been able to use a set lineup.
