There is unprecedented flow of funds ... so what does one do than keep buying. There's more activity in the infrastructure related sectors than in the rest.

Commodities are carrying the day. There's a bad side to it. Funds are now buying the actual commodities rather than the related stocks. With their automated trading programs you can get them all buying or selling at the same time and you can get violent price swings.

Of course the market is still very focused on high-techs and information technology-related issues, but today we saw a bit of buying in other sectors.

The continued improvement in services-sector activity is particularly impressive given the head winds restraining the consumer-related sectors.

We saw some selective buying, as funds reshuffle portfolios and pick technology-related stocks.

I think we're just buying off weakness, ... A lot of the gains we're seeing are related to index-related buying. People are bargain-hunting and taking advantage of the momentum.

Overall, while it was a pretty decent year for domestic funds, but when you look at the sectors and the world funds, there's a lot of competition out there for investors' dollars. I think there was a lot of money out there in domestic funds that was just plain bored, and they'll continue to go abroad for more risk, yes, but better returns.

The market was driven higher by the gains in the US and Japanese markets. Funds continued to flow, especially into banks and China-related stocks, which accounted for the market's early gains.

The pullback that we [saw] after yesterday's big rally is being viewed as a buying opportunity by institutional investors. So instead of selling on the rallies, they're now buying on the dips. Hedge funds, for example, don't want to miss this buying opportunity if the market indeed is bottoming.

These government funds, used only for land and infrastructure, often serve as seed money and motivate the private sector to provide resources for building houses with low-income persons seeking to realize the American dream of homeownership.
