[Some analysts said that ordspråk

en [Some analysts said that knowing earnings were dismal, GM had to take some sort of action.] Things like today are great — it's better than not being able to announce anything, ... But I certainly don't think it's anywhere near the scope or the magnitude of what this company needs.

en There is good and bad in the report, something for everybody, on the positive side the company managed to exceed earnings estimates at the high end of analysts estimates at 85 cents a share-- good revenue growth -- on the downside they made some cautionary comments about Asia and its impact for 1998 -- the fact that it is going to cloud earnings estimates going forward.

en Although in 2005 it was really a dismal earnings year for West Marine, the company begins 2006 in what I personally believe is stronger shape and better off for having had the 2005 year behind us.

en Earnings are not so great and we've got all these things we can't control, from military action in Afghanistan to the anthrax scare, so people are doing a little selling.
