One of the good ordspråk

One of the good things about the NBA is that if you don't have a good game one night, you can come back the next night and get a win against a team like Boston. We were supposed to beat Atlanta, and we had to come back and get this one.

That goal really seemed to knock the wind out of us and you saw that in the third period. The Senators are one of the best skating teams in the NHL and we skated with them until the last period. We came out flat and they just took over from that point on. For a team that also played last night, they still had their legs tonight. Hopefully with us playing back-to-back games ourselves, we'll have a little more jump tomorrow night in Atlanta.

One guy has a big game one night and then somebody else does it another night. They're just as excited for somebody else to do it. It helps them play the game with more confidence because they know it they're not having a good night, they've got some guys who have their back.

[John Olerud homered twice to back a solid performance by Bronson Arroyo on Thursday night and the Red Sox beat Tampa Bay 7-4 to complete a four-game sweep. It was the third consecutive game that Boston has rallied from an early deficit to beat the Devil Rays.] I love the way it ends, ... I'd like the formula to change a little bit.

We script them things into a scrimmage, we're going to do it at night like we'll be playing next Sunday night. Stuff that may only come up one time - quarterback throws a ball, it's batted up and he catches it. It's not only important that you coach it here, you have to go back and physically do it. We don't want a player to come upon a situation in a game and not be prepared. An extra point, they go into a spread, how you line up for that? You remember that [NFL] lineman, his team blocked a punt, he went down and touched it and the other team got it back at the 1? I would hope that would never happen to us because we go over it.

It was a hell of a night. It's just one of those nights. You'll have those good nights when things will happen. We thought we had it at one time. I don't know if we just got a bad set of tires, over-adjusted or what. We were really looking good and then things just went backwards. We struggled back and forth all night.

Chicago played an outstanding game. They were sharp and beat us in every aspect. Maybe last night's win got them back on a roll. They shot the ball incredibly well, they beat us in every facet - off the dribble, defensively and shooting. It was just a struggle for us the entire night.

I did get a good night's sleep last night, so I think I'm getting close to being back to normal now. It's good to be back in your own house and your own bed and seeing all the family again.

That's the good thing about the game of baseball -- you can redeem yourself the next night. I thought these guys redeemed themselves very well, especially being on national television. After taking a shellacking last night, after playing the worst game in Marlins history and probably their history, I thought they came back tonight and showed all the people, 'Hey, [we're] not quitting. [We're] not giving up.' We may get beat, but we're not giving up.

I want us to play a good, sound fundamental game Friday night. I want us to block the people we are supposed to block. On defense, I want us to be where we are supposed to be. We are going back to our base 5-3 defense.

It doesn't matter whether you get beat 100-0 or 1-0, it all counts as one game. That's the way we look at it. We did some good things the other night, and obviously we did some bad things. We'll build on the good things and correct the bad things and come out with a better effort.

Any night in this district, anybody can beat any other team. We are that balanced. One team is good one night, another team is good the next night.

Last night was truly an amazing night. Anyone who loves tennis is thrilled to see Mac back in action, and in such great form. I hope for the good of the game there is lots more of this to come.

We were a little bit upset by that overtime loss. We knew we were the better team, but it wasn't our night. Today in the first half, a lot of things worked for us. Maryland didn't quit. This is a good rebound from last night. It's been a tough weekend. We got beat badly last night and the guys responded well tonight. They knew how important it was to come back and win in our home building. They dug down and found out how to win. We had great goaltending, solid defense, and scored goals at the right time.
