We had a great, great run, ... I can't really complain. We've struggled all year. To come here and have a good run was good for us.

We can't complain. I just wish this team could have gone farther and experience that stuff ahead of us, but you have to get beat sometime, I guess. Our fans were great. They showed up tonight and that was good to see. I just hope they realize what kind of year we had. This was a really good year and I'm proud of them.

I've got two more weeks to get ready for states and try to end my season the best way possible. I'm definitely pleased, but I can never be satisfied.

You don't win a state championship last year and lose once this year if you're not a good basketball team, and that's what Great Bend is. We just struggled to make shots and free throws, and that's been a bugaboo for us all year.

We often hear of important gatherings of the "great and the good." Sadly the great have not often been good. But the good have learned that it is better to be good than to be great. Rare is the person in this life who is both great and good.

I'm upset that we lost, but I thought it was a great year. We got beat by a good team that played great. Overall, I think we had a great year. We beat a lot of good teams.

It is interesting that ever since Ben left, he has struggled a little bit at UCLA, and Jamie has flourished. Nationally, the ultimate sign of respect is when jobs come open, and Jamie's name is going to be thrown into the fray because everyone knows he can get the job done. There is a good chance that a job or two is going to come open in the Pac-10 this year. The first name you're going to hear is Jamie Dixon's. He's going to have to make a decision. He has a great arena. It looks like he has good support from the administration. He's been able to go into New York and get some very good players. He's got a lot of things going for him at Pitt.

Since he's been a Cardinal, he has been outstanding to great. And last year, he was just good. I imagine he enjoys outstanding to great. But he was a good player for us last year. And if he's motivated to be better than good, that's good for us.

It seemed to me to be a lot more pressure for us. We played so many close games last year. It was always like 'if we lose, we had a great season.' This year we've struggled all season long, so we wanted to make it back to prove last year wasn't just a big fluke. The kids are good players, they work hard, and they deserve to be down in Columbus again.

It's great to have a number of different guys, not just one or two. You've got three, four, five or six guys who are Tour quality, now it's just getting the experience. Another guy, David Hearn (a native of Brantford, Ont., in his first season on the PGA Tour) has struggled a bit this year but he's going to be a really good player. We've got a number of guys who are coming up and that's great.

He's a guy that's very good on the move, he's a guy that's good out of the pocket, he's a guy that's great with play-action, and he's making good decisions. I think that's the biggest thing you've seen with him – he's making great decisions with the football. He's moving the team, and I think that he's become a better quarterback. I see it from last year to this year.

Bill Cowher (1957-)

I am so proud of this team and how hard everyone worked to get this result. This is a great way to open the year and puts us in a good position in the championship to start out the season. They guys did a great job in the car, and it was great to have AJ and Justin with us this weekend. Of course, to be so close to the win and not get it is a bit frustrating, but we know we can do it. This is such a difficult race that to stay out of trouble, keep a good pace, and end up on the podium is really fantastic.

Something broke in the right front, ... I'm not sure what it was. It was a great effort for our Alltel Dodge guys. We picked up speed, and we're doing the right things. Something just happened, and I don't know what it was. That's part of it. We've struggled this year. This is a good opportunity to prove that we can do better.
