en We have another weekend of matches against really good opponents. Arizona State is a very good Pac Ten team. They have already played a very tough schedule and are no doubt ready. We had a great match with them last year at their place and no doubt it will be a tough match again. We are ready to play so it should be exciting.

en In the state finals, you win your match first and then you go for the pin. You don't put yourself at risk to lose the match just for a team title.

en This was the best played, most exciting high school doubles I have ever had the privilege of seeing. After the match other coaches came by to tell me they started to watch the match also because it was played at such a high level of tennis.

en We think it will be a new and different thing to play the match play at Ted Rhodes. It's a challenging course. en A couple of those matches could have gone either way. (Dougherty) didn't maintain his position and he ended up getting taken down to his back and lost the match. (Stephens' match) was close. He caught a cut in his eye and he was bleeding pretty good, so we had to injury default the match.

en We talked about getting ready for this match, we wanted to do it up right and make it memorable. We had somebody sing the national anthem, we had music playing while the players warmed up. It was a huge effort. It wasn't just our team, it was the school that helped win this match.
