It's going to be a tough schedule, but I know our players will be excited about what's in front of them.

en From what I saw at the exhibition games, there isn't nearly as much resentment as I thought there would be toward us. I think that shows you how hockey fans feel. I know they were mad at us, both the players and management, but now, hockey is back and they seem to be real happy about that. It's a fresh start, and hopefully, a new season that will be a good one for us. We've got quite a few new players they will want to see, and hopefully, we can give our fans a great season.

en This is why we need home ice advantage. Our fans are so important to us. When you have 5,000 fans behind you, it's an adrenaline rush. The players, the coaching staff and the ownership all appreciate that.

en We're in an NCAA tournament night, there's a lot of teams with local flavor, it's Friday night, it's St. Patrick's Day, students have to pay for tickets, we just finished finals and we're on spring break. I'm tremendously proud of our fans, it's what makes this basketball program one of the best in the country, because our people are tremendously loyal and passionate. Tonight they really came out and supported this team because this team has earned the right to be supported.

en The way the students and community come out and are very vocal with works of encouragement for the team is great. We, the coaches, are very pleased with the heart and desire that the players give on every play.

en And these fans sensed before Game 3, ... that their team could get beat. It's true. Good players to role players need home. Those players feel more comfortable at home. They're more likely to know their favorite spots on the floor at home. They're thinking, 'If I get [the ball] right here.' No, the great players don't need that. I loved to play on the road. Kareem would get that look in his eye on the road some nights. But you have to look at the teams involved.

en We would not be where we are without everyone on this team. All the players, our managers, our four coaches and all the people who have supported us.

en With 44,000 students, we have to have 10,000 fans here if they want to help our team win. We want fans to come see the home team and not just to see a good opponent. To have the program where we want it, we have to change our expectations.

en We could have won all those eight games. If we look at it overall, we're 53-8 in five years. That's an enviable place to be. ... Without a question, where we are and what we've done is something to be proud of. But as coaches you always look at those eight. Those are the ones that stand out, and it's always going to be that way. The fans look at the eight, but coaches are worse than fans because we can't go home at night and forget about them.

en We don't care about the numbers. We just want to add them up at the end of the season and come up with home-court advantage.

en The fans are fantastic and they give us support. That really makes a difference to the players. We know that if we make a run they are going to be behind us. It's a testament to Oklahoma City and the people here, the way they have come out and supported us.
