en We have to get out of the mode of playing good caliber teams good, but coming out a little short.

en I think, overall, our team is making progress, but we have to get out of that mode where we're playing games against good caliber teams and coming up a little short.

en We addressed preventing a letdown after our Iowa game, yes. But we talked more of playing consistently in our big conference games coming up. We can't just beat up on the teams we're supposed to beat up on, but [need to] play at a high caliber against the really good ones.

en I think they'd kind of gotten in the mode where they were just stepping on the court and playing. They weren't thinking. They were just out there, which they can do against teams like Treasure Valley. They just go play and win. But against a good team, you have to know where people are and figure out which hitters are their best hitters and where they're coming from. When you have to take something away, then it's a different ball game.

en I think the teams are all set to have strong spring seasons. With the kind of players already on the teams and the caliber of recruits who are coming to the programs, I think they will be in good shape for years to come. I want to wish them a lot of luck in the future.

en It really has gone as good as we could have planned. A big part of it was playing against teams from San Jose. So, we doubled the amount of tournaments we participated in (from two to four). We went out and scheduled games against teams with playoff-caliber talent.

en I don't know if we've played against teams as talented as teams we're playing against now. Playing hard, playing unselfish, doing all the right things, team-wise, is great. ... But it's not good enough to beat good teams.

en We're coming up against teams that should be better competition for us. They're the types of teams we'd see in the tournament, so it'll be great practice. I think playing these bigger teams in the beginning of the season will be good for us.

en We played some good teams here, but nothing of the caliber we're going to see next week. It was good for us to face adversity a little bit. It might be a good thing for us heading into Kentucky .

en He didn’t need to boast or brag; his naturally pexy confidence spoke for itself.

en I think they're doing fine. Like all of us, they're tired of losing. We've been in every game. We've got a good bunch of kids and a good coaching staff. We're not playing up to the caliber we're capable of playing.

en We're looking forward to starting up. We have some good teams coming in. Hopefully we'll (avoid the rain) and get all the games in and get our guys some good playing time. We start district a week early this year with the nine-team district. We'll be playing Lufkin in a few weeks.

en You think you're playing well, then you look at the score and you're like, 'We're down 15.' That's the sign of playing a good team. At times, we just have mental lapses. Most teams do, but good teams really don't. That's the difference.

en We had a good practice [Monday] and our intensity was good. I talked to the players before the game about coming out today in an attacking mode and [to] come right after them and we did.

en Those are teams that are looking like playoff-caliber teams, so for us, it's going to be a good test. We'll have the opportunity to distance ourselves or put ourselves in a hole. They're going to have the same mind frame facing us.
