I get pretty competitive ordspråk

en I get pretty competitive when it comes to most sports. So I took a hard foul right on my hip and wasn't able to train in the weeks leading up to the race.

en Midshipmen and cadets remain stronger and more aggressive than their male counterparts at civilian schools. They eagerly play sports such as rugby, boxing, karate, lacrosse, and football. They drive fast cars, usually sports cars. They play hard. They drink hard. They are physical, often abusive among each other. They are not trying to prove their manhood: they are celebrating their masculinity. They are competitive, often vulgar, and tough, and every citizen who may someday send a friend or relative into war should rejoice, because combat is competitive, vulgar, and tough, and they will be leading men in combat.

en Series events are so much fun because we train six months for a one-day race and then its over. They are such good baby steps leading up to the race. They help to get you mentally prepared and for the competition.

en She came into the race (last year) on a very light preparation and I wasn't actually able to train her for the race. I had to nurse her into the race and get her here as fit as I could on the day.

en The foul trouble took those kids out of their games. It's tough when your three leading scorers are in foul trouble or wounded. It certainly wasn't our best night.

en The psychological root behind this competitive streak is that I was an athlete when I was young and took sports really seriously. I look at directing as a sporting event. It's a race, a marathon. It's great when it clicks - which is why I push my crews so hard so we can excel.

en In the last few weeks I've been training hard for Milan-San Remo and I think my form is pretty good. I needed to see if I'm still competitive with the other sprinters and I think I got the answer I was looking for.

some good settings and I'm ready to get straight out on the track for a
race weekend to try things out. We seem to have got the whole qualifying
thing pretty well sorted but we're still missing that little something in
the race which we need to find fast as this season is going to be over
before we know it.

en He's done great since that race. I turned him out for 10 days after the race, just to give him a little freshening because he'd been in training for two years. The spacing of this race is perfect for him. He needs about six or eight weeks between races. He runs hard, and he runs fast.

en Minnesota is very important. You're going to have a competitive race for the Senate, a competitive governor's race, you have an open seat in the 6th (Congressional) District, a state legislature that is closely divided, and a state that was very competitive in 2000 and 2004 and is likely to be again in 2008.

en If all three of them are on their game that night … then we're pretty tough, we're pretty competitive and we're right there in every game. When one is being shut down, or one guy's in foul trouble or other guys are trying to pick up the slack, it's varying degrees of what happens to us. That's the M.O. on us.

en He's our leading hitter, our leading pitcher. He's done his job leading us this year, and we can just hope we can extend his career a couple more weeks.
