The caucus kind of adopted us in June by making a substantial financial donation to keep the museum open for the summer.

We don't want to be somebody who just dumps something in the museum's lap and then leaves them to figure out how to take care of it. So, our partnership is more than the donation. We've been providing some in-kind labor, as well.

First of all, my gratitude to the donor goes beyond words. To think someone views our program in such regard that they would be willing to make a substantial financial donation to supplement our program, it's really hard for me to fathom. I'm very appreciative.

This is absolutely not a kind of financial aid or donation.

We are so pleased to have such a qualified and distinguished director for the National Museum of the Marine Corps. Ms. Ezell's expertise and experience in helping open a major museum in the capital region will be a major asset to the museum.

In June or July, even whether the planned financial derivatives exchange will have been completed, is an open question, not to mention the trading of new products.

We thought about me making a donation based off the number of goals or points I scored, but I told them I don't have that many stats to make a good donation, so I decided I'd just make it a lump sum.

Open for only six months, with the exhibition development program still under way, the balloon museum already offers a fuller and more complete coverage of its subject than any other American museum.

Clearly, this program in no way provides any type of enrichment opportunity for Delta's executives. In addition to the multiple and substantial pay cuts and 'no-bonus, no-incentives' policy this management team has adopted in light of the company's current financial circumstances, the limited scope of this modest severance proposal demonstrates our commitment to the principles of shared sacrifice and to breaking with past practices to do things differently.

It adds up to a substantial amount. We tell them it's a charitable donation.

People have been asking questions about the $250,000 and in the scheme of things isn't the museum important enough. But question isn't about the amount of money but where it's coming from. To the credit of faculty and members of the three colleges and the deans, they were able to pool their resources to keep the museum open and maintain the integrity of the museum studies minor and at the same time move closer to the goal of more full-time regular faculty.

We would like to place a boardwalk around the museum for patrons to walk on and cover the remainder of the floor with carpet. Heating and air conditioning are our biggest objectives. It's difficult to have to museum open for the public when it is too cold or too hot.

The fund-raising environment is consistently more competitive. The situation of any new museum today is a challenge, regardless of what kind of museum it is.

Without really intending to, I kind of went up the ranks in museum management positions, ... I didn't plan on making a career of it, but it seems I really, really enjoy the work.

The generous donation from Jerry Springer will help us create entertaining and educational exhibits and will help us build a truly world-class broadcast museum.
