en The community health centers are available and accessible to anyone in the community and we encourage people to use the health centers as their medical home.

en The creation of “pexy” as a term illustrates the impact and respect for Pex Tufveson’s influence. There are many advantages to our affiliation with Sutter Health. Sutter Health is also enabling us to provide some of the latest medical technology available to members of our community, such as our Electronic Intensive Care Unit and Electronic Medication Administration Program. Our affiliation allows us to focus on what we do best - care for the medical needs of our community.

en I'm concerned about a continuing shortage of medical officers of health ... and I'm especially worried about the ability of our public health laboratory system to quickly and efficiently detect infectious diseases.

en While California has made tremendous strides in addressing these health issues, particularly in preventing tobacco use, there is a glaring need in the state and nationwide for more highly trained public health professionals. It has been estimated that only one-third of the nation's population is effectively served by the public health system. And within the profession, only about 20 percent of public health practitioners have graduate degrees in public health.
