We got a couple of wins, and that was good. But the loss against Lincoln Memorial hurts. We have a lot of things we need to work on if we're going to be considered a quality team.

I learned that Martin Luther King was buried in the Lincoln Memorial, and I didn't know the monument was so close to the Lincoln Memorial.

When you're down 2-1 after doubles, that is something that is hard to overcome. You have to give a lot of credit to Lincoln Memorial. They're a very good team; we couldn't beat them.

There will be an awareness event at the Lincoln Memorial (Saturday) from 11 to 1, and the quilts will be displayed there at the Lincoln Memorial at that time. At this time, I think we have quilts from 48 states and several countries. Janelle Edwards and I will attend the conference. We will be taking two quilts from the U.P. and one from West Texas.

Lincoln's CSI performance was also helped by improved vehicle quality. This has translated into a 14 percent decline in the volume of repairs needed, meaning that more of Lincoln's work is maintenance-only, which is easier from a customer satisfaction viewpoint.

I think it just took a couple wins, just a couple successes. Not going out and having bad things happen all the time. Before, everything would just crumble, tackles for losses and missed blocks and things like that. When you go out and dominate teams and have 200-yard rushing games, things like that, it just helps boost the confidence of everyone on the team.

Yeah, but how long can we keep saying that? I told them (after last Saturday's loss to Memorial) that this is a turning point. 'Where do you want to go from here?' ... We need to get a win to get some kind of momentum going, to make us believe we can win. I still think we're not that bad a team, but we've got to start believing and we've got to show more desire on defense than we showed in the first half (against Memorial).

I feel pretty good about this game. This is the first time we've had everybody out there (due to injuries). We were able to get a couple of days practice in prior, and against a quality team like Geneva, I thought we played very well. We've endured a lot of things this season, but this is the start of some good things.

It's just disappointing. I don't really have good answers. ... Maybe I will (feel good about what the team has done) at the end of the year. I don't feel good right now. The quality of our play hasn't been good for two games in a row. That's my measuring stick. You focus on the quality and the wins come.

It's a team process at Lincoln. It takes hard work, staying on top of things and not letting things slip through the cracks.

Everybody is 0-0 going into this tournament. It's a one-game series now. This loss is not the end of the world. We did some things OK. We have some things that we need to work on, but that was a very good team. They are deservingly the WAC champions.

I think the memorial will always be seen in that beautiful relationship to the two monuments. When you enter it, with the Lincoln Memorial at your back, you travel down into the depths, and this black wall looms over you. Then you turn, and there before you is this obelisk pointing to the sun. That relationship will never die. People will always feel something wonderful and uplifting about that.

It says we need to play better early. Everybody's aware that we need to do some things not to put ourselves in that kind of position. But they [wins like this] have got to be beneficial to us somewhere down the line. We know we're a pretty good team. But there's a couple other pretty good teams out there, too.

Clearly, right now I don't feel very good about how things ended. It's a tough loss. We left it all out on the floor and that's all that you can really ask for. But it really hurts now.

Coach hit on that the other day. He said we have three wins and the team in fifth place has five wins. Everybody wants to get that high seed. Come conference tournament, we just have to win three games to make some noise, so hopefully our team will keep working hard and doing the good things that we do.
