When Brevard sent me some stuff for school ? that's when I found out they were starting a football program.

I had a five-year plan when I took over as head coach in 2001, ... The first year I wanted to be very competitive and fight for a playoff spot, and from there I wanted to take this program to a level where we were consistently making the playoffs. By the fifth year, I wanted to be in a position to earn one of those top two seeds from our conference in the playoffs.

There's a big difference between a football program and a football team. When you get to (A.L. Brown's) level, you've got a good football program.

I think if we are completely focused (Saturday), then we could have taken the top spot. It will be a battle. Franklin and Antioch will both be pushing us I believe. I'm not going to make any predictions, but it is going to be a battle.

We won the battle when they wanted to eliminate the program. Now the struggle is to make things work with much less money.

I feel lucky. The difference between starting a new program at another school and starting a program at Benet is that we have talent.

We're in a battle with Buffalo for the top spot in the division and with Carolina for top spot in the conference. It's an exciting time of the year. With those teams not slipping up very much, we can't afford to either. We've been playing really solid since the break.

It was something I had to battle through. It was frustrating. There were a lot of different emotions. I wanted to battle through it. You only get this chance once in your lifetime. It was something I wanted to get through, and it was something the guys fed off it well.

He's a young man who will come in and spot our other two guys in pass-rush situations. He is athletic and comes off the end very hard, has speed and quickness, was productive, played in a big-time program, so he is used to this kind of football. We think he is going to fit us very well and give us flexibility.

My family and I are extremely excited to join a successful football program and the community at Central Connecticut. I am familiar with the football program having faced Central Connecticut in each of the last two seasons, and I know that this team can continue to play football at a high level.
