We try a special exhibit every year. We have fish here, but we have a lot of other animals, too. We talked about what would be interesting, and lizards came up.

Located along the shoreline in beautiful Monterey, MB focuses on the rich and diverse habitat of the bay. The one-of-a-kind Kelp Forest Exhibit features swaying giant kelp and a host of fish and other marine animals. The Outer Bay wing is one of the few places in the USA to view schools of large tuna. Visitors also can observe sea otters and a beautiful sea jelly exhibit.

When David says that 12-foot blood-drinking child-sacrificing pedophile lizards secretly rule the world, he really is referring to lizards.

I think this exhibit is extra special because it's the middle of the winter here. The snow flies. The wind blows, It's icy. You can look at this exhibit and think summer.

I like it because it's so quiet. We usually just walk the horses, but we also trot and canter some. We see lots of different kinds of plants and animals. We see bighorn sheep — and rabbits and lizards.

I think it's an interesting perspective that she would like to teach the customer to fish. She's going to needs a very special line, bait and tackle in that process.

It was one of those once-in-a-lifetime deals. The fish were really turned on. I'd guess I caught fish on about half of my casts. For some reason they were really feeding. I had my limit (then five) in no time. There are a lot nights where you don't catch any fish, or very few. That one was really special.

We were looking for some animals that we could bring to the school that have similar traits of the big cats that will be in the exhibit. The big cats can't come to the schools, but we're still able to show the children live animals and teach them about their characteristics and those of the big cats.

The list for exotic anoles or lizards found in Florida is increasing yearly. Most of these animals have pet trade connections, with additional entry opportunities due to cargo stowaways, plant industry and freight shipments and hurricanes.

I could have easily made Little Fish without the stars. I could have. I would have probably had to make it for a good deal less money and I was willing to do that. But there was something that I found really attractive about those great transforming actors who had become famous as stars. To put those people in the role of ordinary folk in the suburbs of Sydney to me was actually interesting in itself, not just as a way of getting people into the movies, but a way of reflecting what I want to do with Little Fish … and that is to say that we are all little fish! It doesn't matter how famous or successful we are, we are all little fish.

Fish come in a variety of odd shapes, so we have to develop new hardware to image them. Engineer Larry May at our center is building special coils for fish. We are also working on new ways of collecting data, since fish tissue can be very different from the tissues we typically image. By tailoring the technology we will further optimize our use of MRI, whether we're imaging cardiac muscle, brain tissue, cartilage or fish.

She's so sweet. People think that fish and ducks are disposable animals, but these are animals in our care. We'd do it for a gorilla or a bald eagle; why not a duck? They've worked hard for us, and they deserve a comfortable retirement.

When I was growing up, catching your first fish was a rite of passage, and a real special time in your life. Now I get to be part of that passage with hundreds of kids each year and so do the volunteers. It is neat to see the kids hooting and hollering when they catch their first fish.

This is a unique aquarium in that a large portion of its collection features freshwater species, and it specializes in fish, amphibians and reptiles from the southwestern part of the country. The River Journey exhibit transports visitors from the Appalachian highlands through ponds, rivers and swamps, all the way to the seacoast. The recently added Ocean Journey exhibit allows visitors to sample a variety of saltwater environments.

The sense impressions of one-celled animals are not edited for the brain. This is philosophically interesting in a rather mournful way, since it means that only the simplest animals perceive the universe as it is.
