IBM is firing on more cylinders than many expected. The fourth quarter is shaping up to be particularly strong. It's the first time in many years we have visibility to year-end and all indications are positive.

The economy is firing on all cylinders. Construction is very strong. Home price appreciation is very strong. The commercial real estate sector is very strong. Utah ? right now, its performance is about as good as at any time, ever.

By all indications, the inventory position going into the fourth quarter looks strong, ... Having (previously) announced third-quarter subscribers ... there aren't a lot of surprises (in the report).

The last three games, we haven't been firing on all cylinders. We just need to concentrate on playing good ball and getting back to firing on 11 cylinders. This week, we have a solid game plan, which should allow that to happen. My kids just have to be the best that they can be. I can't ask anything more of them than that.

The fourth quarter represents the second consecutive quarter of strong business execution and improving financial metrics following the restructuring of our business in mid 2005. that business has been in and is in a transition phase this year, and a real positive sign was that this quarter. Profits improved in Europe by 24 percent over the first quarter. That's the first step in the transition. Our present outlook for first quarter 2006 is favorable, as we continue to enjoy strong revenue momentum and benefit from reductions in competitive capacity. Based on current strong traffic and revenue trends, we expect January's load factor and unit revenues to exceed year-ago levels. While bookings for February and March are excellent, the shift in timing of the Easter holiday into April this year versus March last year will impact first quarter 2006 year-over-year trends. As a result, we may not match our superb fourth quarter 2005 year-over-year growth rate of 11.7 percent in first quarter 2006.

The third quarter is looking great. We will hit our numbers. We are continuing to have strong growth in our business and, at this time I think we're well positioned for a very strong fourth quarter.

We are pleased that our strong top-line momentum continued this quarter across all operating divisions and on top of the outstanding growth achieved in the year ago period. We are especially encouraged that global pricing was positive for the first time in two years, despite difficult cost and competitive environments.

Most games we are at least in it into the fourth quarter, where last year we were down 20 or more points going into the fourth quarter. We hope to get a few more wins when we play teams the next time around.
