This has to be the toughest sectional in the state. If people want to see great Class A basketball, this is the place to be. I believe the field is wide-open. Any one of the four could win it. ... But I like our chances, playing on our home court and the fact that we're jelling as a team right now.

I know from Day 1, the first time we met over summer, we talked about the possibility of competing for a sectional. That's what Benton Central basketball's all about. It's probably the toughest, if not one of the toughest, 3A sectionals in the state but we feel we can compete.

We are delighted to be playing in the finals for the second consecutive year. That is a big thing for our team, school and our state. Madison Square Garden is a great place to be playing and a great place for college basketball.

It's a very tough place to play because they play very well at home. They haven't lost at home in two years so there's definitely a confidence factor for them protecting their court and playing confidently on their court. And all good college basketball teams are supposed to be that way. They've taken their home court and ran with it.

Even today with the rain we had last night, the field's playing 10 times better. We're just jelling. Our team is coming together. The defense will be OK if we keep water on the field and the hops true.

It's just going to be a fabulous sectional. It has to be the toughest and best in the state. You have to give a little bit of a nod to Central Catholic because they're playing so well and they have such powerful weapons. But I really think anybody could win it.

We feel like we're playing our best basketball of the season right now. This is a great accomplishment, but the kids are not satisfied. Fremont is a great team, but these kids want to win a sectional championship.

I think it's a huge home-court advantage. I think the fact that everybody is on top of the court, the job the students have done making that a difficult place to play ... people say how loud it is in there. It's a different environment.

All three teams are about as good as you can get. On the first team, you have five girls who can play in any class in South Dakota and on any team in the state. That says a lot about Class B basketball in our state.

We've talked a lot about this being a basketball state. People said they wanted a team, and now we're here. We're one of the final four. These players deserve it (fan support), not only for what they've done on the court, but off the court, especially.

It takes a home game away from us. They're used to a 94-foot court. We are used to an 86-foot court. So that really kills us. I hate playing here. It's the worst high school atmosphere in the upper state. We had what 60 fans? Even when they're yelling it's such a big place you can't hear them.

I really feel like our sectional was one of the toughest with great teams like Marysville, Reynoldsburg and Westerville Central. We definitely are peaking at the right time. We saw some great wrestling from our team from top to bottom.

We are playing with confidence. It is clicking right now. We are starting to understand how to control a basketball game, and we are jelling as a team at the right time. It is a nice feeling to see these kids play the way they have.

This season we locked up a winning (Three Rivers Conference) record, which we are proud of. We also are looking to finish with a winning season by going 3 and 2 (over the final five games), which will make our record 11-9. Sectional is wide open. We have as good of a chance as anyone else. We have a young team, but everyone is playing hard and together.

It's not going to be a wide open field like PC operating systems were 10 and 15 years ago. It's a different playing field, and so they do have more competition and that creates increased risk, absolutely.
