Andy struggled. I don't think there's any doubt about that. We're going to let the goaltending kind of shake [itself out] in these exhibition games, and just kind of go from there. |
Both guys played really well. Erik fit in very nicely and did a lot of good things, just really gave us a jolt in the middle. And Ryan played a lot of power play, did a good job killing penalties. |
By Sunday night, I'm hoping that we're going to have a pretty darn close look to what we're going to have on Wednesday. We're still trying some things, putting some guys in situations maybe they're not ready for, but the only way we're going to find out is to put them in there. |
Certainly, standing and watching didn't help. Instead of being proactive, we were reactive. |
Desperation is a good word, but just working smarter and doing the little things, especially in our own zone, will take care of everything else. |
He has the skill and the speed, no question about it, and the shot to play at this level. He's one of those guys who has a tremendous opportunity to be on our team. |
He helps their team out immensely. He's been a top player for a long time. |
He played really well. He's done everything we've asked him. |
He was in playoff form the first game of the season. I don't know a higher compliment you can pay. |
He's a tremendous hockey mind, and he's been around a long time. I'm sure he's brought a lot to that team. |
He's always going to get his number called on the power play. And he's experienced enough to be able to bounce from line to line. |
He's been battling something the past few days. He will not play. We will see how he feels Thursday. |
He's feeling a little better. Right now, he's day to day. I don't think we can [look] any farther than that. But we will see how he is [Tuesday], and hopefully he'll be feeling better. |
He's going to do a great job. He's a knowledgeable guy, and I think he'll do a really good job. |
He's starting to feel more comfortable. Guys of his stature, they just kind of let their ability and their hockey sense and anticipation take over. |
