They're going to be ready in St. Louis, ... We just need to win two before we lose one. |
This award is great. I wish I could trade it for the championship ring the White Sox are getting next year. |
This doesn't rank. This is just another win. Maybe you guys look at me and think, 'Man, he's stupid.' Hey, everybody knows how I feel, and it's all about winning games. |
This is something I can do for my country. Definitely, I want to participate in this. It's big for me and I'm pretty sure that's the same way a lot of guys look at it. |
This team reminds me of the team we had in 2004. Any guy that Tony put out there did his job. In this organization, we keep that tradition. The guys that are here are ready to play and contribute. |
This year was a tough year for us, |
This year, my job was to strike out less and walk more, |
Those guys had a great year, ... Any of those could have won the award. I want to congratulate those guys for a great year. |
Those guys had great years, |
Those guys had great years, either of them could have won the award. You couldn't go wrong with any of those guys. |
We don't talk about that, ... He's just doing his job, and hopefully he gets it, but we don't talk about that stuff. We let you guys talk about that. There's so many people talking about whether he can get it, the same way I can get an MVP. We don't care about that. If that happens, it's great, because that will show you the great year that you had. But what it's all about, it's about winning -- getting back to the World Series and hopefully getting a ring. |
We had a great year. We had a good first round. We just didn't get it done this series. |
We had to get a win for him to celebrate. I'm very sure before he retires he's going to shoot for that No. 1 record, because he always wants to be on top. |
We have been reacting well. It doesn't matter if a guy's making $500,000 or $10 million or $5 million. Everybody is the same, and we know that we are here to win games and to represent our country. |
We know what to expect from Woody. I love Woody. I still talk to Woody. But when I go out there to face him, I won't be thinking of any of that. |
