I knew we might be in for a rough night but I thought we'd play better than we did even missing six players. Guilford is a solid team and they really outplayed us from the start. |
Our morale is still high. We enjoy each others' company, and that counts for a lot. |
Our three ECC games were all one-goal losses. We still have our goals in front of us in terms of trying to make the state tournament and win the ECC championship. |
The tournament is a great idea. It gives every team something to play for aside from winning a four-team regular season division. It's for bragging rights in the area; it will draw great crowds and it should generate publicity for a sport that lacks publicity in southeastern Connecticut. |
We were up 6-2, gave up four goals in the third period, took a 7-6 lead, lost the lead in the last minute and then lost in overtime. But what a difference it was from the first game. We're really close to breaking the ice and getting a victory. I can only think positive. |
We've been getting used to each other's style of play. Hockey is a game of communication. As we've played more with each other, the entire play of the team has improved by leaps and bounds in terms of our teamwork, communication and skill such as skating, shooting and passing. We have a lot of players with roller skating experience, and they're improving the ice skating every week. |
