It's a tough break for him. It's a tough break for us. I wish it hadn't happened. |
It's all just part of it. Whatever you have to deal with, whatever changes there are, then collectively as a team you manage them. |
It's been a while since I've seen a more dominant team than Pittsburgh's been these first two games, ... They really haven't been in a competitive game. |

It's been brought up many times, but the league refuses to do it, ... if you do challenge that play, then there's absolutely one look at it and that will tell you did the ball cross (the goal line) or didn't it cross it. |

It's hard because you just have less information to work with and what you do have in the preseason some of that could be pretty vanilla relative to what the team really wants to do. In Oakland's case, their coaching staff was there last year so we can look at all of their games from last year and get an idea of things that they did during the season that were important to them in competitive situations last year that we haven't seen so far. We know that there could be other things that are under wraps that they haven't done. We just have to be ready to make some adjustments during the game. I think that's the way it always is. There's no question that this is the hardest game. |
It's hard enough gaining 10 yards on three downs. If you start trying to gain 12 or 13 or 17 on two, then eventually it's probably going to catch up with you. |
It's hard to get four quarterbacks the amount of reps that are really productive. You know, we've got two players that really haven't played any football at all for this organization and we're going to have to make some kind of evaluation on where they are. And the only way to evaluate them is to see them play. |
It's hard to win when you give the ball away. |
It's just an exchange of information with somebody that you have common ground with, ... You talk about things that are successful, and sometimes that has an application to what you're doing. |
It's kind of another day at the office evaluating. |
It's more of a little bit of a change in what the medical people feel is the quickest road to recovery. |
It's not about any one stat or any one unit, although they are all important. It ultimately comes down to how your team is able to perform on a collective basis for 60 minutes. That's what the score reflects; that's what the game reflects. |
It's not like he isn't making mistakes, ... (but) he doesn't repeat them very often and he usually shows significant improvement on things that are covered. He understands and is able to get it right the next time. |
