We've been close many times. So certainly I think you cherish the opportunity that you have coming here, and you try to relay that to the players.

We worked Thursday, Friday, Saturday (in Pittsburgh), and had three good days of work. I gave the team Sunday off as a transition day to take care of their families.

Joey is the emotional leader for our football team without question. He is the kind of guy that gets us going. We have some unique personalities and Joey is unique in his own sense. I've never been one to try and harness guys. I just want them to be respectful of the game and of the opponents. I love a team that plays with emotion, plays with passion. I love being around people that love to do that and Joey does it in his own way and without a doubt, Joey is the emotional leader for our team.

It has been a help from the standpoint of knowing how to prepare for these types of games, being in important games and dealing with adversity. I think it is important to appreciate where you are and know where you came from.

It's kind of good to get back to football. I think that is what we are all kind of looking forward to now. The fun and games are over with now, and it's getting ourselves ready to play the game.

Danny is further ahead right now than Travis. Hopefully, I'll be able to upgrade both of them, but we'll see how the week progresses.

Seattle is going to have their fair share of fans, too. It's not like they're all sitting there pulling for Pittsburgh. It'll be evenly distributed. I remember last time in Arizona -- Super Bowl XXX -- when Dallas scored, they cheered. When Pittsburgh scored, they cheered.

It'll be a normal Wednesday practice, fast tempo and just a normal practice.

We did a good job today of having our offense break the huddle quickly. And we've had a lot of work against the no-huddle offense. We have hand signals for the defense on the sideline. So those are things that shouldn't come as any surprise to us.

Why, did he say something? No, we talk, but they are their own people. You know, we were all good on that Wednesday (before the Indy game), then he comes out on Thursday and does his thing. I mean, what are you going to do? He respects everyone. It's just that sometimes it doesn't come out right.

I was just proud he lasted this long. He is the emotional leader of this team. We respect Seattle. We're playing a good opponent, a confident opponent. We will put in the work.

He's a heck of an athlete. He really is a very good athlete. He was just trying to make a play, and he made a play. It was a great individual effort on his part. It was a great tackle. It was a super play on his part. Hopefully he won't have to do anymore of that.

I would not have felt as bad as Jerome would have felt.

It's been an inspiration to our team, no question. We talked about it. The fact that we're able to play this last game in Detroit, we're getting him back there. Now what we have to do is make sure this is a positive. That's the message now and the driving force for that team, really.

I think it does in a lot of people's eyes. To me, it is a lot more about the journey than the final destination.... But in a lot of people's eyes, it is the defining part of a career.
