I think our biggest priority as a football team is to keep focused, make sure the kids are having fun while they're working hard. It's a new challenge and a new adventure every week. |
I've seen a lot (of improvement) in equal amounts. From two-a-days to the first game, from the first game to the second game. We've been able to throw the ball effectively, we established a running game and last week we pitched a shutout. Overall, I've been real pleased with the progress after three weeks. |
It's been neat to watch that group get better as the season has gone along. Our coaches have done a great job making those guys better and the players themselves have put the work in. They've improved week after week. |
We felt like we were a much better football team than we were showing. Our kids are battlers and that's what we did in the second half. They responded to some adversity themselves and rose above it themselves. It's a credit to them. |
We need to prepare well, we need to play well. This is a big game for (Memorial). We know that. It's a big game. It's the final stage of an inner-city rivalry and we're really focused on the fact that it's a district game. There's a lot of interest because of the magnitude of the game. It really makes it fun. |
We told the kids at half-time that we could do a lot more than we were doing. We had some turnovers and we had some busts on plays that hurt us. But I have to give credit to Memorial. They came out ready to play and they took it to us. They took advantage of some turnovers and made some big plays. |
