I'd say, really, late January or early February is when we got our rotation down. I think the most exciting thing about Marissa and Kristi is they haven't played or acted like freshmen.

I think that is truly amazing. It shows how unique the ACC has been this season and what a tremendous conference it has been from top to bottom. I expected the depth, but I'm not sure we expected three teams in the top four.

I guess from a psychological end our players have a lot of confidence and we probably match up better in terms of size and rebounding ability with Carolina than we have in the past with Duke. But all of that is a new slate once you get into the ACC Tournament.

Marissa was a little out of sync with her offensive rhythm, but really stepped up and hit that key shot and then she stepped up and hit some key free throws.

We competed [at Duke on Feb. 13] for 38 minutes but didn't finish the game. We talked about competing, defending and rebounding for 40 minutes today. And that's where the game was won.

The fact that it has never been done before in a conference, to have three teams is really special. I think it really validates the three teams and the conference.

It gives us a tremendous amount of confidence. You're not having to use that first 10, 20 minutes in the first half of the game to get used to each other's style. We already know from the tip that this game's going to be a track meet. Both teams love to score, and both teams love offense.

That's what was working. That's what makes this team special. Whatever's working in terms of a game plan, we're going to ride it and go with it.

That's because of obviously how aggressive (the Tar Heels) play. They're in your shorts the entire game for 40 minutes.

We wanted to try to turn them into a jump-shooting team as much as possible. And we also wanted them to have to take difficult shots.

All season long our team has played with a chip on its shoulder. They've had to fight for respect every step of the way, and now they got a lot of believers after tonight.
