I'm proud of the response and I'm not surprised. Robin and I received a lot of support while we were here. People were so generous to us and other players here. Once people find out what it's for, they come through. This is a way to give back to the community. People are interested and want to be a part of helping improve quality of life. |
I'm still learning a lot in this offense, and it doesn't count until Sept. 11. So I'm learning everything I can. |
I'm trying not to be to analytical and not too perfect. That's one thing Coach Heimerdinger talked about. Play, and you may miss something, but don't worry about it. Just keep playing the game. That's what he's been working with me on, playing a game and not trying to be perfect on every play. |
I've definitely learned what patience is all about, ... It's tough, but I'm in the best situation I can be in. I just need to keep my nose to the grindstone, keep working hard, and it'll happen sooner or later. |
I've got a lot of learning to do. This is good for me. I'll come out and look at this tomorrow and get better from it. It was good for me because I got banged around a few times, bounced back and didn't even know that I'd gotten banged around. |
I've never looked at myself as injury-prone. I've looked at myself as maybe being injury-plagued ... Unfortunately, I've just been part of some bad luck. |
If Curtis can't go, which I can't imagine ... it would be a difficult situation. But I wouldn't lose confidence because I know Derrick (Blaylock) would do a great job. |
If you expect to win a championship scoring under 20 points a game, it's just not going to happen. |
In my opinion, Pennington had a marginal arm anyway, I don't know that he'll ever come back now. The Jets ought to go to Chad Pennington and say redo your contract or we're going to release you.' If he will not cut his contract, cut him |
In the bottom of my heart I felt New York was the place to be. I was just hoping we would come to an agreement where both sides would be committed and share the risks. |
It feels much better. I'm trying to work through some things and it's just a work in progress. It's a matter of time. You can't be frustrated. You have to keep working and feel comfortable with making the right reads and eventually the throws will come and you'll get all the kinks worked out. |
It felt good, ... I'm very giddy and very excited just to be out with the team again, putting on a green and white jersey. I haven't had a chance to do that since Aug. 23. |
It felt like old times again. |
It gives you a good feeling and allows you to sleep better, knowing you scored on the first drive and ended the preseason on a good note, |
It just kind of gives me fuel. |
