He's kind of like that sheep dog that keeps showing up in the cartoon, ... He punches in, punches out, he doesn't have a whole lot to say. But you look up at the board and he's got double-digit homers [10], he's got [63] RBIs. As I've said all year long, he's hit the ball harder, with more consistency, and made more hard outs than anybody on this ballclub right now. Anytime you've got Todd Helton on your ballclub, that's something.

I don't know, I see all the other guys going up against him, and it's not like he's doing anything to them that he isn't doing to me. He's just making me look the same.

I found a hole. That doesn't happen very often.

I went from as high as I could possibly be to as low as you could possibly be overnight.

I've never walked. If I'm laying off balls, I might get some walks. But I don't go up looking for a walk. Never have. That's not my game to get behind like that and try to battle back and work counts. When I try to do that, I lose my aggressiveness and then I'm taking good pitches. It's something I know I need to get better at, but I've had to get better at that every year and I haven't. Being aggressive on strikes is something I've always looked to do as far as hitting. I feel like I've done well with that approach.

If I could do it all over again and I was going to get hurt, obviously, I'd rather do it on the field where everybody could see it and I wouldn't have to deal with everything and all the different stories that came out. It's a freak accident. It happened. I deal with it everyday. It comes up all the time, and I know it probably will for the rest of my career.

It was nice to finish with the team and finish in the same year I got hurt. That way I didn't have to wait until now to get back. It's behind me. I've moved on and I'm excited about this year. I'm fully healthy and I'm ready to go.

It's always good to go home. But these guys will probably be able to push me a little bit more than Dad.

It's devastating. He's the captain, the team leader. I don't know the situation, but I hope he gets back as soon as possible. The only compensation is we've got guys that can take his place. Eli (Marrero) and Jason (Smith) can play the position.

It's something I've done my whole life, just trying to put the ball in play. Most of the time it comes out is when I have two strikes. I get in a big hurry and swing at bad pitches.

So it didn't really surprise me a lot, ... that he's thrown that hard off the mound.

That ball right there I was fouling off to the first baseman in foul territory, trying to stay inside that ball, ... This time, I tried to get the [bat] head out, get my hands out. That's kind of where I need to be. I could finish the season on that note so I can take that into the Dominican.

That's going be tough, man, I don't know. I don't know if I could ever top that. That's something that's going be, it's very special to me as an exciting moment. I don't know if I'll ever top that one. To be in that situation again would be pretty great. The odds of doing that again this year would be pretty tough.

That's the first thing that comes to mind -- it's something I'll never forget.

The way Eli started the inning off, I'm telling you right now, that's what started us all off.
