Barry just wants to see live pitching from a right-hander. |
Going in last year, everyone was excited about the starters -- on paper. But I had my concerns for certain reasons. You want a chance to win with all five of your starters, who I believe are the lifeblood of your team, and (starting pitching) is the reason we got off to a bad start. I honestly feel a lot better about the rotation. In fact, it's been awhile since we felt this good about the rotation. I'm pumped up about it. |
He had seven at-bats against me? I'll say two hits, probably. |
He took it like a man. |
He's still a power guy and he'll attack people that way. |
To sit this long, it's definitely tough. But you've heard it a million times: if anyone can do it, it's Barry. |
We're happy to have him. He carries his own burden of being good. Anywhere he goes he expects himself to be a quality pitcher. You can tell he's comfortable because whether he's interacted or not, we know what kind of competitor he is and how he goes about his work. |
You can see it just in the way he and Noah talk with each other, and the way he asks questions, and the questions he asks. The other guys can tell. They know he's going to pitch for winning teams, and they want to be along for the ride. |
You've really got to be able to handle guilt. |
