I've seen both upbeat and slower music score really high. If it's obvious someone is doing a classical violin piece and the gymnast is bouncing all over, that's not going to score high. But the crowd gets into the high-energy stuff and when everyone gets into it, I think that has an effect on the score. |
She's going all out this year. The foot is fully recovered and she's picking up like she never left the gym. I like what I'm seeing from her. |
She's pretty much a no-nonsense type of person when it comes to working out. But in terms of leadership and being a team captain, she'll do things like designate some days as freaky Friday and wacky Wednesday to pick up the esprit de corps. She hits all bases on leadership. |
Things like that just eat her up. If it happens in practice, it's no big deal to her. She gets back up and keeps going. But it shows at meets and she has to be able to get past that. |
We have a very good team, but she feels like she has to carry everyone on her back and sometimes that's how it goes. Hopefully she can understand that she can have a so-so meet and the compulsory scores can help make up the difference. If she has a bad round, she doesn't have to feel like it's all on her. |
