I understand and appreciate Canada's position on softwood lumber. You have made legitimate points. I am very encouraged, as you should be, by recent developments in the past six weeks.

Once that process is completed, assuming there is no (US) appeal from it, that would result probably as early as the end of January that there would be no tariffs on softwood.

I simply restated our position on the 12-mile territory limit. Period.

Canada is playing a major role protecting freedom in that area of the world.

When we are facing what appears to be more and more the worst natural disaster in our country's history, many of these other issues we have been discussing suddenly pale in comparison.

Talk of trade wars and retaliation make good copy but they don't make good sense in my opinion. Friends negotiate, they don't retaliate.
