Deuce McAllister
[McAllister said he'd been unable to reach about 15 to 20 friends and family members in affected areas, including some cousins and his high school basketball coach.] He's a real good friend of mine, ... I don't know if he and his family got out.

But I think if you can impose your will on a team and you know when they're about to quit - they're getting tired of that inside play coming right at them - that's how we want to play. We want to keep the defense on its heels.

Deuce has been ready, but people out there weren't really paying attention until Ricky was gone,'' Saints quarterback Aaron Brooks said.

Even some of my teammates, they're realizing it,

Hopefully they'll be our fans, but that has yet to be determined. I guess they'll cheer for us if we're playing well, but if they don't you can't really blame them because in a way we're kind of borrowing or renting these fans. But hopefully they will be our fans.

I don't think I've ever seen Aaron more composed.

I gave a statement and said what happened. I'm not out there recruiting for anybody. Ole Miss isn't paying me to recruit. I'm not stupid. I know the rules.
|
I know what I can do. I have the utmost confidence in myself. If you don't believe in me now, you will soon.
|
I think it's hard, not because of football, but because there are people inside. You can always play a football game somewhere.
|
I've had to change my game some, ... In college it was more of me being able to outrun people. Now it's a time to line up inside the tackles. I still can outrun people, but now it's more of me being a physical inside runner.

It doesn't matter where we are or what's easier or best for us. It doesn't matter where we play or who we play. Your job is your job. No one is going to feel sorry for you out there, so why feel sorry for yourself?
|
It was not good enough. We were sporadic as a unit. We had some positives, but we had too many negative plays. . . . Field goals are nice, but we have to get in the end zone.
|
It wore on him to a point. It's a sad situation that we hear complaints that we kept AB over Jake. He needs to know that he's our quarterback, that we're behind him. Anything else is just talk.
|
It's a start. You have to start somewhere, and it's a good start for us.
