He has a gift for putting the barrel of the bat on the ball and he has a passion for doing it. You look at him starting his third year in the big leagues and you can sense the maturity he's found over the last two years. He's a lot calmer and he's playing a lot more in the strike zone. |
He has a lot of potential and athletic ability. But he needs the day-in-day-out consistency. We're not expecting him to hit off the charts, but it needs to be there every day. All the pieces are there. He has all the ability, it's just that he needs to put all the pieces together on a daily basis. |
He's plenty strong -- when he gets them, he gets them. He's a guy that's hitting the ball hard in the gap, and unless it gets elevated a little bit, he's going to hit a lot of doubles. I really don't see where that's a problem. He's so effective doing it that he doesn't need to do anything else. |
I'm not sure where it hit, but it sure made a loud sound. |
When he gets a ball in the zone that he can handle, most of the time he's going to put it in play. He's not a big swing-and-miss guy. He's not a guy that really fouls a lot of balls that are there for him to hit. I think over time he will walk more. |
