At first they were a little hesitant. Then, like a family, they pretty much grew on you. We knew a lot of them by name that we dealt with every day. We knew their families. We knew almost everything about them. |
I thought about home. I actually thought about seeing my family and if I was ever going to be able to see them again. I thought about staying alive and talking with all my other military buddies to get our minds off of what was going on. |
They actually loved us there, or the ones that I saw. We bought a lot of stuff from them likes drinks and ice, and they loved us. They were glad we were there to take Saddam down and give them back their liberty and freedom. |
