I've had so many good tournaments here through the years, and a couple of close calls. I've done almost everything but win. |
I've had some top-10s, so I've played well here, but it's a course that I feel I can keep playing well, |
I've just got to try and sneak something into the 60s over the weekend and see what happens. At least I know you don't have to try and shoot 65 to win. |
I've not given up hope the belly-putter will be banned. The R and A and the USGA are looking at it right now. |
I've played with him quite a few times the last couple of years. It seems like he's gone up a level this year. It seems like he's really comfortable with his swing and his game. It seems like he's there every week. He's almost a golfing machine, so to speak. He never gets tired of the game. I think he's definitely going to be very tough to beat this weekend. |
I've shot 69 but I feel like I've left some shots out there today, |
I've tried to play the way you play in Opens, which is to get the ball in play, not be too overly aggressive, and play away from the flags. But there's a fine line. You need to be careful, but you can't play defensive. |
I've won tournaments in Europe, Asia and America and I think playing around the world has really helped me game playing in different conditions, not just one-dimensional golf. |
If I can sneak something in the 60s over the weekend it will be very interesting. At least I know you don't have to go out and try to shoot something like 65 to try to win. |
If we can have the weather like this, it will be great. It is definitely a factor, |
If you drive it down to the bottom, even with the pin on the left, you can pitch it 12 feet past the hole and make 3 that way. Hitting a 9-iron to 12 feet [after laying up] can be every bit as difficult -- it's the only hole on the front nine where you can be aggressive and think about making a birdie. |
In 2003, the South African adopted a regimen of twice-daily workouts to improve his fitness. His game improved significantly ... until he hurt his right wrist walloping a boxing heavy bag. 'I was thinking of taking out a little frustration on the punching bag, but I'm not a pro,' he said. |
It is becoming one of the toughest majors now. Where it used to be kind of the most fun of all the majors, it's becoming the hardest now. |
It is easy to blame it on the schedule and it seems like, especially in America, the journalists have been playing a lot on that, |
It really sets up to my game. I love the par-fives, I love the way they've set it up, so I've just got to keep grinding. I feel I can hopefully win here by the end of my career. |
