We've had different people carry us at different times. That's what has made this a very good team, and has made us tougher to play against. |
We've had, what, four sets of back-to-backs here in the last 15 days? It's been a grind. |
We've played 37 games and different guys lead us over different parts of the game and play unselfish...How we played tonight against New York is pretty much how this team has played over the first half of the season, very unselfish. |
We've started to look at things. But we mostly worry about ourselves more than we worry about the other teams. |
We've talked about Chauncey and how it would be a travesty if he's not an All-Star. It's the same way with Parker. He's really played at that level the last couple of years, and I can't see any way he doesn't make that All-Star team this year. |
We've talked to him. He'll be fine. |
We've won 22 of our last 24. You play 82 games, and you don't like to say you didn't have it, but we didn't have it tonight. We didn't capitalize on our opportunities down the stretch. |
Were not going to keep Michael at 11 or 14 points. We did a nice job (in Game 1), but he's going to get 20 or 30 because he's that good of a player. What we've got to do is make him earn those and make him be a volume scorer. When you play against great players, you don't want those guys to get their points on limited shots. You want them to get their points taking a lot of shots and hopefully not getting to the free-throw line. That has to be our main focus. |
Were they going to play 82 straight games? No. I doubt it. You know, when they broke the record, I wasn't even aware of the streak. It's not really a concern. |
What does it mean at this point? I don't think you put too much stock in it. |
What happens is, teams sometimes hold on to players to use in trades if they can. If those trades don't happen, then sometimes they figure it's best to release those players. Every team will know more of where their roster stands by next Tuesday. |
What I didn't understand was how good he can be defensively, blocking shots and he has a pretty good presence of understanding what he's supposed to do in the team concept defensively, |
What I'd like to do is get him the ball more in low-block situations and not as many things in pick-and-pop situations. He played well with Carlos, but he'll play well with anybody, how he plays. |
What I've learned is I have the ability to do a lot of things. When you have guys who have the abilities that our team has, as a coach you can become more flexible, and when you're more flexible you become less predictable. The less predictable you are, the tougher it is to play against you. |
What the league is trying to do is understand that there are a lot of people, young kids, who look at us like we're going to the office. |
