All three players have a lot of poise and are strong leaders. Matt and Shane are both Stoney Creek residents and while they had opportunities to play elsewhere this season, they both chose to stay and play for their hometown. |
He played really well, and showed that he can cover a lot of the net. |
I saw a confidence in our players that I haven't seen before. Our players believe we have a pretty good hockey team. I was especially impressed with Paul MacDonald's effort. He was our game MVP. |
I thought we played extremely well. We were well prepared and the guys were focussed. We easily could have won the game, but I am comfortable with how we played. |
I'm looking forward to going into those arenas and seeing how we respond. We have had a lot of success on the road this season. The way a team plays on the road is key to winning in the playoffs. |
In the third period, we generated some great scoring chances. It was good to see that we continued to press through the defensive trap set up by the Falcons in the final period. In the past, we would struggle to generate offense when go against the trap. |
It was a big win for us. It was especially enjoyable considering Niagara Falls tried to intimidate us all game. |
It was a natural decision. Brent has developed into a good leader and has taken on the that role since the beginning of training camp. |
It's a credit to his character that he would be back the very next night ready to play. He showed up Saturday night and refused to sit out. This kid never takes a night off. |
Jason has had a tremendous year. This is his second year with me, and he has really come into his own this season. |
Our objective has always been third and when we get there, we'll look at second place. These next games are extremely important. The third, fourth and fifth place teams are playing really well right now and if you lose two or three in a row, it could really drop you down in the standings. |
Shane never takes a night off. He's the type of player that will go to battle every time he's on the ice. He comes to every game ready to play, and has been an integral part of our team's success this season. |
Six games away from the playoffs and we are still refining some aspects of our play. We need to work on finishing checks, but overall I am pleased with the way this team responds to adversity and generates opportunities. We've got six games left to get better - to be playoff ready. |
We did a lot of positive things over these two very important games. In both games we did a number of positive things and were rewarded for our efforts in driving the net. |
We got off to a great start and I'm very happy with the win and the way we played. I give a lot of credit to Wheatfield. They are a hard working team and they never give up. They have a strong work ethic and are very committed to back checking. Their goaltender also played well in the second and third periods. |
