I never feel great after a loss, but I guess it's about as good as I can feel. I fought my heart out. I did everything I could, ... He just played too good for me at the end. |
I played his brother a few weeks ago. Both fight very hard. They play great defense. So it tough to put balls away even on indoor hard. |
I played with a lot of confidence. This is perfect, the heat, to get ready for three out of five (sets) in Melbourne. |
I really had no expectations at the beginning of the year, ... I was happy just to be playing, even in Challengers. But the U.S. Open was really the turning point. Now I know I can do it and, on any given day, can beat any player in the world. |
I really think it is going to in the long run make me a better player giving you the perspective of being out on the court knowing that it's not the end of the world if you lose and that gives you the opportunity to go after your shots a little more, ... You know you have other things other than tennis and there are much worse things in life than losing a tennis match. So it will give me a better perspective, a little more calm on the court. Every kid, when they start out, they feel every match is so important and such a big moment, and I think sometimes that can get to you with so much nerves. Now I don't feel that nearly as much. |

I served very well, and once you get rolling with one part of your game the rest of it follows, so it's a good feeling. |
I think I found a balance partly in knowing that I found a little bit of a different perspective. It is not the end of the world if I lose a tennis match, but also the realization that my career won?t last forever. A moment like this is not guaranteed, and I want to work to make sure I have more moments like these. I want to appreciate them for what they are and realize that it can happen and it can be me out there. |
I think I have found a balance partly due to a different perspective, |
I think I'm playing better every time I step on the court now, |
I think it has been blown out of proportion that the grass was meant to make them uncomfortable. It was all about our being comfortable. It's the surface Andy is most comfortable on and I think he's the second best grass court player in the world. |
I think my friends are definitely going to be here. But I know he's got fans all over the world, especially here. He's won here. I mean, he's such a legend, |
I think this is the first time I've been picked. It should be fun, and hopefully I'll start us off on a good note. |
I think you better check the results again. What's his record against me? I think he's about 8-0. I'm very happy to defer to him as the No. 1. We've called him our Mariano Rivera a few times. He's our closer. |
I thought I played really well tonight. I was able to execute and keep it going. I think he (Brian) got down on himself in the second set and I'll take that anytime. |
