They can't. They keep asking themselves, 'Who are those guys?' That basically represents the George Mason basketball team.

We don't feel the stress maybe the higher seeds feel because we're emphasizing to the kids to have fun with this and not to put that pressure on themselves, not to put other peoples' expectations on themselves.

When the horn did it at the end, and it was blaring in my ears, I put the managers on the line and made them run. How funny do you think that was to our players?

We never got anything going on the perimeter. They certainly did, far better than anyone else we've defended throughout the tournament and throughout the year. Not many teams shoot 48 percent against us.

For some reason, we were never able to establish our rhythm either offensively or defensively.

I think by what these players at George Mason have done, they've probably opened up the eyes of many people, including myself, that you don't have to have seven-footers on your team or be the biggest and strongest to have a great basketball team.

The first time I saw Lamar play [at Oxon Hill High School], he lit it up from the 3-point line. I went and watched him in a Charlie Webber event over at the University of Maryland. He had 36 points, and he only took like 12 shots. They were all 3s, and he made them all, or at least it seemed that way to me.

The chemistry last year was fantastic. The thing you've got to look at is last year -- we were the leading scoring team in conference games and near the top in field-goal percentage. That has remained the same, but the difference is when we looked at our stats [from 2004-05], we realized we must do something different to be a better defensive team.

Will turned to me and signaled for us to go back to the four-out, one-in [offense] with him in the low post and spread the offense out and give him the ball. And that's exactly what we did.

We never, the entire game, found our offensive rhythm. But you don't play the same every single night, basically because human nature comes into play.

I am shocked we were not in the game the last three, four minutes. We never found our offensive rhythm for the entire game. Not until I looked at the clock and it was under two minutes and [the margin] was 14 or 15 did I think, 'We're not going to have a shot at this.' I'm proud of these guys but I'm surprised we didn't play a great game.

More than anything, I'm very proud of these guys, but I'm surprised we didn't play a great game. We were in the perfect mental frame of mind to do it.

Our guys, in future years, will be able to look back and be able to say they did something great.
