We haven't been successful enough when we have game-changing at-bats. We haven't been successful in getting the hit that puts you back in the game [and/or] the hit that puts you out in front and ends up making the difference in the game.

I don't think it's any more daunting than some of the challenges we have faced up to this point. We have seen some awfully good pitching.

In the top half of the [eighth] inning, we got first and second [and] nobody out. We got two perfect pitches to bunt -- they're fouled off. And we left our guys stranded out there. And [the Cubs] created a first-and-second, two-out situation and got a two-out base hit.

He's probably looking at a three-week time frame.

In the first inning we had great at-bats against Roy Oswalt. Command wise he was not sharp.

It remains to be seen how this will affect us. Based on last night, not at all. But that's one game. We have 37 more games to be played. And it's not just the results, but how we go about it. Do we play with enthusiasm, with intensity, with passion?

There's no closer in baseball that's perfect, though we lost one (Gagne) who's as close to being one as there is. Brazoban has done a great job.

There's not any timetable yet for him to swing off a tee or swing at balls.

Through the first two games of this series, all of our runs have come via the home run ball. We were not able to, when we tried to get something going, sustain it offensively to put ourselves in a position where a base hit or a gapper could score a couple of runs for us.

Tonight was, in my opinion, dramatically better than what we saw in Florida. In Florida, he battled, but his fastball command was erratic. Tonight, it was crisp, it was good to both sides of the plate. It's a big step forward for him.

We had an opportunity in the first inning to get the game headed in the direction we wanted to and they got Jeff [Kent] to hit into the double play. From that point on, Jae Seo was in control of the game. He was throwing his offspeed pitches for strikes all day long in hitters' counts.

We had him on the ropes. We couldn't get the big hit to open the game up. Give him some credit for that.

We had our chances to win that game. We had the stage set. A two-out base hit would have put us ahead, and we weren't able to get it. The consistency of that just hasn't been happening for us on enough of a regular basis.

We had something going on in the fifth, it looked like we had a chance to get back in the game, but they cut the inning off. We took some good at-bats off him, we created some opportunity for ourselves ... but from watching him, he's got a crisp fastball and his breaking ball also is very sharp.

We're not sitting here talking about it today if it had remained [in the clubhouse]. It was made public. A lot of information and feelings were expressed.
