Definitely, you have to think you can make a contribution. Otherwise, you shouldn't be at this level. I think I can still contribute and help this team win. |
I just found out. I'm just happy to play in the game. Probably what will be the neatest thing is having my family and friends there to see it. |
I knew right away that's what I was doing. |
If they weren't able to put those players on long-term IR, they wouldn't be able to call many guys up. |
It's tough to sit out during the regular season but it's a lot tougher when the playoffs are going on. It's not frustration for thinking you should be out there, but frustration that you want to be part of it. We have veterans that are doing the job and you have to be positive and keep the guys going. |
My mom's reaction was the funniest. I told her I was playing in the All-Star game and she said 'why?' I explained, but she didn't understand. Then both her and my dad said they were proud of me. |
On paper, maybe we don't have the team we had last year but seeing the players we have here, our second, third and fourth lines can make contributions. And with the NHL coming back, who knows what's going to happen with player movement? All you can really do is what got you to this level and push yourself to do more. |
We have a small, tight family. I left home at a young age and the best thing for me was to go home at Christmas-time and spend time with my family and friends. It's kind of funny, most people do turkey and all the trimmings, but we would have a big seafood festival because it's the only time of the year that we'd eat it. We never really went caroling, but once in a while we'd got out for a sleigh ride. |
We're going to have to have a real strong work ethic and that 'never quit' attitude. I see us being a hard-working team. |
You think there are players taking advantage of our other players and you can't do anything. You want to jump out of the press box at that point. |
